The water dispenser in my GE Cafe Side-by-Side Refrigerator is slow to start up (about 3-5 seconds to reach full velocity) and VERY slow to completely shut down (about 15 seconds). Its this stop slowness that is the big issue, and it often overflows in the tray. I just had a repair man come out and he said it MAY be the water valve. He ruled out the solenoid as he said this did not control the water dispenser. Does this sound plausible? Other related details
- Making ice fine
- Water filter changed recently
- I bought this used and don't know how long this has been an issue, however their were significant water stains down the front which lead me to believe this has been happening for some time.
- Water pressure in the house in fine, and previous fridge had no issues.

I replaced the water valve and did not have any improvement . I'm bummed. I was hoping someone had this issue before and could help me out. If anyone has a tip they are willing to share I'd be much abliged.:) By the way, the GE Cafe stainless steel side panels partially cover the mounting screw necessary to remove in order to get the water valve out. Seems odd they wouldn't have a cutout to allow access to the head of the screw. Made it tough to remove.
