coils frozen again. I'm just a do it yourselfer, this is driving me nuts! replaced heater, didn't work, replaced thermostat, thought it worked, month later its frozen again. Does my model have a timer? I can't find the part. Or is it in the main board on my model? Please help.

Which thermistor did you replace?

Are the coils iced from top to bottom or just part of the way up?

An air leak can cause this so make sure both doors are closing airtight and the flap in the ice shoot is not getting hung open.

The main board controls defrost so it can be bad.

Make sure the door switches work properly because the amount of times you open the door effects the time between defrost cycles.

I replaced the defrost thermostat Part Number: AP3884317.
coils are frozen all the way up. Door switches seem fine.

If you don’t find anything wrong with the doors or the ice shoot I would say it is either the top thermistor Part Details - GE Sensor temp ff, part number: WR55X10025 or the main board.
