Hey guys, hopefully someone can give me a hand or point me in the right direction, I was told I could repair the element rather then replacing it, just trying to save a buck, im not entirely sure how old this model is but is fairly old, ill let you decide, but anyway, I want to repair the element, assuming that it is the element, the dryer is working fine but is not throwing any heat, can someone please tell me how to even get in at the element so I can repair it, a diagram would be exellent but I can follow instructions pretty well too. I was able to take the back off the dryer but the element is like inside a casing and it doesnt come off, when I open the front of the dryer up and look inside, it seems like that would be the only way to get in at it, but it seems like i would have to take the drum right out. Any help would be great.

Hi Mike

Your model number does not come up, but I can tell you a couple of things.

1. You do access the element through the front. Release the dryer belt and then you can remove the drum. This will get you to the heating element.

2. If the heating element is the problem, REPLACE, DO NOT REPAIR the heating element. This is not the place to save money. It may be that you can buy just the element and not the whole assembly, which is fine. I cannot tell because I cannot get your model number to show parts.

3. Check all of your thermostat/thermal fuses for continuity as they may be the problem as opposed to the element.

Good luck, hope this helps.
