I was changing the cord from a 3 to a 4 I had taken to nuts off to remove the cord when I try to remove the last bolt I broke the stud on terminal block and 1 blk and 1 yellow wire I used a solderless connection to fix the block wasn't cracked so I replaced the stud with a bolt and then connected the 4 prong cord blk to L1 white to the middle red to L2 and green to the dryer chassis when I go to plug it in it trips the breaker

Here are your parts includes a wiring diagram. Replacement parts for Maytag LDE7304ACE DRYER- ELE | AppliancePartsPros.comYour wiring seems to be correct if the punctuation I added to your post is correct. I think you connected it as follows. Black to L1 White to middle (Neutral) Red to L2 Green to chassis. I am not sure how you fixed the block. May be best to replace it. The bolt you used on the terminal strip may be shorting at the back of it to the frame. Did you remove the ground strap that connected the middle to the chassis when wired for 3 wire? |
