Freezer not keeping consistent temperature creating frost build up on walls, food etc

It appears my GE side by side freezer frost free component of the freezer is not functioning properly. Food, the walls and icemaker are all forming unusual amounts of ice/frost build up. The ice in maker will form one big ice clump after awhile, the ice cream will sometimes be more soft than frozen solid. The auger on the automatic icemaker froze up to where it will not dispense ice. I removed the auger and motor to thaw and dry up, it appears to function fine except when it freezes back over after being reinstalled. I am thinking of purchasing the auger boot cover to help with that issue for the ice dispenser but I believe the bigger issue is a defrosting temp problem or something of the like??? Any advice would be so appreciated!
