I inherited a nice upright freezer from my parents and after being cleaned up it looks almost brand new. Even the seal is in great shape visually and it gets nice and cold inside. I am concerned that the seal doesn't seal all the way at the top? I'd hate to buy a new gasket when this one looks great. Is it a matter of replacing magnets? How does the door remain sealed is there a vacuum created? Please help.

Hi Chicwithknives,

The first thing I would check is the bearings on the bottom door hinge.

If they worn out then the door will never close properly.

Also you can adjust the door, using the upper door hinge.

The magnets are inside the door seal and do not sold separately.

- The part number for the bearing (bottom) is AP2113416

- Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire freezer Model MFU12M0GW0

Good luck.
Gene.
