My washer is leaking from under the unit. What are the most common sources of leaks for this model which is 7 years old? I am will to try to attempt to make the repair myself but I want to replace the usual suspects while i am down there seeing how some of the parts are relatively inexpensive, please advise.

The way we diagnose leaks is to operate this model with the cabinet off. Use the video library at the top of the washer page to learn how to remove the cabinet on a Whirlpool direct drive washer.

You will be able to see where the leak is coming from, the usual suspects are the pump and internal hoses, but look and see if you have a hold in the tub.

An easy way to see what is going on is. Fill the washer with a small amount of water, and then drain it out. Then unplug the washer, and pull it away from the wall, and lean it back, so it rests on the back wall, and then lay down on the floor in front of the washer, and look underneathand at the pump on your washer. It is right up front, in the middle, and feel behind it, and around it, and see if it is wet. If so replace it. It is an easy repair.
