Hi, my 7 year old GE Profile Artica refridgerator is overflowing at the icemaker inlet. Water is free flowing at the inlet to the icemaker, just before the icemaker itself, where the supply line enters thru the back of the freezer. The problem persists whether power to the icemaker is on or off. The icemaker itself appears to be functioning properly in its capacity to make ice. The thru-the-door water dispenser was working properly at the time of the water flow malfunction, although, in the past, it has worked intermitently as if it had an ice block or an air block in the supply line (I could hear the pump running.) The water supply to the refridgerator is often shut off for long periods at a time when the house is vacant. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The tube that feeds water to the icemaker may be stopped up with ice. If so remove the tube from the back of the refrigerator and clean it out. If the water is cut off to the icemaker and the icemaker is left on this can happen. The water valve can also cause this same thing. Refrigerator repair guide
