Inglis by Whirlpool. Gas powered
Renting a house and am about to call the landlord but am curious of the issue. I tell my roommates to empty the dryer lent prior to each usage to avoid buildups and potential lent fires but most simply forget. I came home and it looked overloaded and the clothes wet. I went to restart the cycle and it indeed starts but immediately stops. I hit it a couple more times and started to smell something burning. I immediately stopped as I assume there may be a buildup and something is igniting.
Please advise. Thanks, Nick

Hi Nick,
You dryer definitely needs maintenance. It has to be taken apart and cleaned inside. Also the vent line has to be cleaned as well.
Possible the motor got damaged due to overheating.
If you will need any further assistance, post the complete model number of the dryer.
Gene.
