Hello,

I have a continuous headache with my Kenmore "Coldspot" side by side ice maker. I am now on my 5th ice maker motor and I am beginning to believe it is something more involved. I have checked the cylenoid in the rear of the fridge that pumps the water and this is working correctly. I have replaced the ice maker motor now, this will be the 5th time and it works for about 2 weeks then sops making ice. Does anyone have experience with this? Know a repair man in the Detroit area suburbs that can fix this. Can give me any guidance with this headache. Thank you.

I know this is old, but I am having the exact same problem. Was this ever solved? We are now on our 5th motor as well, and although they last longer than 2 weeks, the time it takes for the motor to break seems to be getting shorter. We replaced the last one at the end of August. Any ideas?
