Central A/C unit started this a.m. and immediately cut off. Threw breaker. Recently had compressor recharged. Tech cooled thermal overload switch with water after recharging. Not thinking that is the issue.
After resetting the breaker, I recycled system. Fan worked and cooling eventually came on (delay expected in normal use, I guess.)
Any thoughts on the problem? Air out of vents seems cold enough, but house does not seems as cool as should be. Air flow seems slightly reduced (filters ok).
Could it be the starter capacitor? Since the symptom has gone away (throwing breaker), can this problem be diagnosed?
BTW, unit is Lennox central air (electric) and gas heat- older unit.
Thanks for any replies.

Just a note to say that my Lennox A/C problem was solved by a tech. The casing on two wires into the starter capacitor had about disintegrated and were intermittently shorting out, thus popping the breaker. The starter capacitor itself checked out okay.
He trimmed the wires and added new connectors.
Problem solved!
