I took the back off the refg. and looked at the condenser. It needs cleaning and I can get to the side on the back of the refg. but how do you clean it all the way around? Do I have to find a way to take the whole thing apart and how often do you have to clean the condenser?

GE claims that if the condenser on their new style refrigerators (made after 2002) is dirty it will not affect the efficiency of the refrigerator. I am not sure I quite buy that but with that being said I suggest cleaning it as best as you can without attempting to disassemble anything. Normally I recommend cleaning the condenser once a year but as I said GE says you don’t need to clean it. Refrigerator repair guide
