Hey guys, Im hoping someone can help me. I recently purchase a 1996 amana fridge from a coworkers dad. This is my first fridge, so all of this is new to me. Heres my problem. My coils kept freezing up on it, and from your sticky I saw it could be the defrost timer. Well, they had this replaced before I bought it and claimed it was working fine when I bought it. But I can turn the timer (new timer and old timer) manually and it turns on the heater and defrosts the coils. Is there any chance that the new timer is defective too? I just dont want to go drop another $30 on this thing to find out its something else, I'd rather just put that money towards a new fridge. Thanks for any advice.

Check to make sure the defrost timer is advancing, you can mark the timer knob to check this. Check the info with the timer, you may have wired it wrong.
