How do I install the nut without knowing the number of revolutions to remove the old trunnion nut? Replacing trunnion nut that was stripped. I was unable to determine the number of turns when removing the stripped nut. Also the new nut is metal vs plastic like the last 2? Does this mean the plastic ones were not working properly?

I realize this post is almost 7 years old, but it appears it was never answered, and I currently find myself faced with the exact same question.

If anyone is able to offer any assistance, it would be much appreciated.
