So the washer would not spin, lid switch ok. Replaced the belt-did a "dry run" test and tub spun. Tried a small load, did not spin out. The motor was running, belt was hot to touch @ pulley-not turning. Advice?:confused:

Sounds like either the transmission, or the brakes which are inside the transmission housing and not a separately repairable item is tghe problem.

Hi Sidfink43,

thanks for the advice....so we tried the $10 fix in high hopes, but you support the other advice I have received. A couple years ago I replaced controls knobs and kept the machine going....just don't make em like they did back then.
