I have a side by side g&e profile fridge. A little part (looks kinda like a washer piece) broke from the bottom of fridge side door and the door now sits down about a 1/2 inch and thus doesnt seal properly. I found the psrt on line and its cheap..but my question is is it easy to remove the door and put it on or should i call for help?:)

The door is simple to remove just remove the cap off the hinge at the top. Then remove the two hinge screws and the door just lifts up. Refrigerator repair guide

hi ejt, I have a similar problem. Can you just replace the cam or do you need to replace the complete hinge assembly? Imran

If you are talking about a GE side-by-side there are two cams. One permanently attached to the door hinge. The other is attached to the door by a screw. If the one attached to the hinge is broken you will have to replace the hinge. If only the one attached to the door is broken you can replace it. Hope this helps! Refrigerator repair guide
