My cooktop is directly over two cabinet drawers. The items in the drawers are getting very hot. Is their an insulating material I can line the cooktop pan with to limit the heat below?

You shouldn't add anything inside the appliance. You might be able to use standard household insulation around its exterior.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had not thought of insulating outside of the cooktop unit.
