My GE microwave did the following today:
- I had a cup of milk warming up and went to take it out. I opened the microwave door and the microwave did not stop.
- I unplugged the microave.
- I waited several minutes while I did something else and plugged it in. I reset the time. When I opened the door, the microwave started.
- Next, I tried pressing the "Stop" button, then pressed the number 1 for Express cook - 1 minute. I heard a click behind the panel and now the microwave will not start. It has power and I can set the time, it just won't start cooking.

Although no one had an answer for me, I looked on the schematic of my microwave model and happened to click on the Door Sensor Switch. I checked it out and, sure enough the switch did not click when the button was pressed. I ordered one from AppliancePartsPros.com and it was shipped yesterday, arrived today and my microwave is working beautifully again. I am very happy with the speed of delivery.
