6 months ago belts smoked during rinse cycle. Replaced belts July 2011. Worked fine till January 2012. Replaced belts and spring roller kit. Machine goes through wash cycle but seems to lockup during rinse cycle. Tub doesn't spin and belts start to smell. Thanks for any advice.

It could be the transmission, but a more likely problem is with the brakes. They need to release to allow the tub to spin.

Note: The brake spring is very high pressure, you need a special tool to go in and check this out.
