Hi - The front-right burner on my RDSS30RS Thermador range no longer lights when I turn it on. There is no spark. If I turn it on and then another burner, the second burner causes a spark and both burners light fine.

I did some troubleshooting and believe that my 4 point gas re-igniter is defective. On this forum I read that the 4 point RI 324 has been replaced with the 6 point RI 326. However, when I did a parts look-up to verify that the 6 point re-igniter is correct for my specific range, it says "RDSS30 S/N 9707 & UP". My serial number is 97050024.

Is the 6 point (part number AP283654) the correct re-igniter for my range?

thanks!
John

Hi - I called ApplicancePartsPro.com, however they could not answer my question.

So I called ReliableParts.com (Reliable Parts | Appliance Parts | BBQ | Maytag, GE, Whirlpool | Reliable Parts) and they were able to help me and I ordered it from them. Yes, my range uses the same part: the 6 point re-igniter (part number AP283654).

Thought I'd put the answer out there to hopefully help someone else in the future.

And it works! I just got done doing this job. I was able to plug the main connector in, just as it had been connected on the 4 point re-ignitor. I then unplugged the wires that went to the burner ignitors, and plugged them into the re-ignitor module. (Ignore the S5 and S6 connections).

And it worked great... almost. The two small burners were fine, but the two larger burners sparked continuously. I had accidentally swapped the wires from the re-ignitor to the two large burners. I switched them and it worked perfectly. Happy ending to the story.
