Hi,

Main issue: Samsung fridge Control Panel shows cold temps, but fridge and freezer are warm after moving fridge.

Story: We just moved our Samsung RS267LBBP/XAA Fridge a few miles to our new home. Fridge is a year old (bought from Lowes). It was moved upright with no damage or issues that we know of. Did not have any previous issues and worked great. We did have to remove the doors, and cut one of the grounding wires (the screw stripped and refused to come out). We spliced and repaired the grounding wire very well and replaced the doors with no issue. No circuit wires were cut or had issues.

When we plugged it in, the number "3" appeared on the right side of the display and the unit would not cool on fridge or freezer side. (This is a twin-cooling model). We left the item plugged in for 2 hours with no temperature drop inside or registering on Control Panel. We pressed power freeze and freeze buttons to make sure it wasn't in demo mode. What's odd is that on my fridge it actually says "no cooling after 3 sec." next to those two buttons (if pushed simultaneously) and the letters "OF" appear in the temp section of the fridge and freezer when they are pushed. When pushed the compressor turned off and "OF" appeared on Control Panel. So I pushed power freeze and freeze at the same time and the temps returned (no longer said "OF"). But still no cooling, temps remained in 70s for next 30 minutes.

We unplugged it and left it while we went out of town for 4 days hoping that might help. Upon return we plugged it back in - to no avail - still have "3" appear when plugged in and no cooling inside or and control panel still read 75/72. I read on the internet that this meant the refrigerator defrost sensor (DA32-00006W) was bad. I purchased a service manual to determine how to change it out. (We are very DIY friendly). But the service manual states that you'll get a dash in the electronic 8 of the area that has a problem. This was confusing to me since we got the number "3" on the fridge side upon plugging the unit in. Does that mean all 5 of those dashed areas are bad, or just the defrost sensor? Another odd thing is that when I press power freeze and power cool for 8 sec it doesn't display any dashes- it goes straight back to the normal display (freezer 75/fridge 74).

Last night we looked all around the fridge to see if we might see what the issue was. But it got late and we decided to continue tonight. My husband was concerned that we would mess something up leaving it plugged in, but I couldn't help it - today I tried it. This time I pushed the "chill" button on the Chill Zone drawer. After a few minutes the temperatures on the Fridge and Freezer started dropping. I was excited, but didn't want to open the doors - I didn't want to jinx anything. After 1 hour the temps had dropped to 36 freezer/34 fridge. I opened the doors to find that they were still warm. Not cool at all and no air was blowing. I pushed the light off and waited - after 10 seconds the air started to blow, but it was not cold (only slightly cool - but that may only be cause it's moving air). But it definately wasn't the 36 degrees the control panel was claiming. I unplugged it, it still stated "3" when I plugged it in, and the temps immediately showed 73/70 again.
- I wanted to add that we don't have it hooked up to water yet or any of the drawers or shelves in because we want to make it accessible for repair.
Also, the fans are working. The compressor is warm to the touch and appears to be on.

Any thoughts? Any help would be appreciated, I'll try anything you suggest.

Thanks, Lark in Texas

Hi,
I had previously gone to that website, based on the many suggestions on this website, but could not find any part with defrost in the name (I searched every diagram) or the item number DA32-0000W. All the parts start with AP. Do you know which part is the defrost sensor?

Does it sound like it is the defrost sensor? And is the defrost sensor the same thing as the defrost thermistor?
Thanks,
Lark
