The microwave was installed with our brand new house 3 1/2 years ago. Everything works as it should until one day it does not heat no matter what the setting. It looks and sounds like it is working, but you take the food out and it is still cold. Then a day or two later it starts working again for another couple of months. This is the 3rd time this year it has happened. It stopped working yesterday afternoon right after my wife heated up her lunch. Mine remained cold. We tried several more times yesterday and today. Then this evening it just started working again and boiled some water. Is something going bad that can be replaced or do I just need to put up with this until it dies for good and then get a new one?

Possible there is a loose connection somewhere or a micro crack in the control board. Also it can happen if the power in the outlet is less than it suppose to be. It is very hard (almost impossible) to diagnose it. I would keep use it until it dies and then decide to fix it or buy a new one.
