Interior oven lights click on and off sporadically, usually when oven is not in use. Sometimes the light stays on for hours. Sometimes using the oven or messing with the touch pad will make the light go out. It is very annoying, but was told (via phone) that it is a very expensive fix. Any thoughts on what repair would be necessary?

The first thing I would do is open the control panel, remove the touch pad ribbon from the control board slot and clean it, using an eraser.

Plug it back and check if the oven light works properly.

If not - the control panel has to be replaced.

If you need the right part number for the control panel, I need you to verify the model number and repost it together with the color of the control panel.

Good luck.
Gene.
