I have an amana asd2626hes fridge that all of a sudden got warm. The coils were all iced up and the fan was not working so I tested the fan (out of the fridge) and it was bad. Ordered and installed a new fan and it still won't work. Before I go ahead and order a control board, is there something else I can test? The controls seem to be working and the compressor does kick on and cool the coils in the freezer (just won't kick on the evap fan). Thanks!

Amanas are a breed of thier own design wise. If the defrost thermostat doesnt close, the freezer fan will not start. To test this theory, bypass the defrost thermostat. Odds are that the fan will start up and the defrost thermostat will need to be replaced. =]

The defrost thermostat is the small disk with 2 wires(brown and orange) on the cold coils in the freezer below the fan. simply unplug both wires and hook the wires that arent coming from the thermostat to one another. This should start the fan as soon as power is applied. Also when the thermostat is replaced, it takes about 8 minutes for the coils to get the thermostat cold enough to close so after the new thermostat is installed, wait 8 to 10 minutes whith the unit on before you expect the fan to start up. =]
