tecnician advised I need a drain hose extension because the washer was moved into the home from the garage and the current extension does not reach correctly into the large drain tube in the garage-- we are having a syphoning problem and getting the f20 signal- of too little water

The part to extend it in the Whirlpool book is 285863 but the technician mentioned I would need a coupling to attach the extension to the current drain hose so I can run it through the wall and into the drain tube in the garage.

what part do I order in addition to part 285863?- a coupling part?

Before doing anything I suggest you check with your local plumbing board and see what you local code requires. It may not allow what you are planning to do.

If it does allow what you plan I am not aware of any coupling and suggest you have the plumbing make the hookup according to whatever the code requires.
