Hi, my Kitchenaid side-by-side, model KSSO48FMX01, starting making a fairly loud low humming noise about a week ago. It seems to be loudest when I open up the freezer door. I am wondering if it could be the freezer fan motor or something. Looking for insight into what it might be, and if it is the freezer fan, is it difficult or easy to replace? Thanks, Victor

Try to pinpoint where the noise is coming from. The fan is behind the back cover on a side/side. The fan will cut off if you turn the freezer temp control high enough to turn the compressor off. If the noise stops when you do this, you'll know it's the fan. It's not hard to replace.
You have solenoids in the water and ice dispenser which could make a noise if stuck on.
