Hi,
My dryer is Bosch Nexxt 800 and diagnosed that the control board is bad. Repair man asked $450 for replacement and I'm wondering if I need to replace it or buy a new machine. It is about 5 years old we got that from the previous house owner so I have no idea how was it for 5 years.
The part itself costs about $250, I don't know how to replace it by myself but searched Youtube and doesn't look that difficult.

But I'm wondering if I order the part and replace it myself, what if still the dryer doesn't work????
Please give some advise whether it is better to buy a new machine.

Thanks.

How did he diagnose the board being bad? is it throwing an error code on the display or just not running? It is a $1000 dryer with the base so if you can fix it yourself it would be worth it.. It isn't rocket science and the schematic is usually wrapped up and ziptied inside the dryer.. You should be able to check all of the safety interlocks and if they are all good and it still doesnt run it probably is the board..
