I have an Amana electric dryer #NDE2330AYW, that is heating fine, but the timer does not advance when using any of the dryer cycles. The cloths will dry, but you have to manually stop the dryer since the timer isnt working.
I've ran through a few scenarios -
Scenario 1 - When on the High/Med heat setting, the timer does not advance using the "More Dry" "Less Dry" setting for any of the cycles. If I switch over to low heat or fluff, the timer will advance.
Scenario 2 - For all heat settings, the timer will advance once I manually advance it to the "cool down" portion of the cycle.
Scenario 3 - When using the timer cycle, timer advances
My guess is that on the higher heat settings, the timer is not being triggered to start...but I'm not sure what needs to be fixed/replaced...thermal fuse? thermostat? timer?
Any help would be greatly appreaciated. Thanks - Scot

Hi I am a little bit confused. You initially say the timer will not advance in any cycle, but later on you seem to say it will advance at some heat settings and it will advance in "Timed" cycle. If it will not advance in any cycles it is likely the timer. If it will not advance in automatic settings it can be a number of things, most likely something in the sensor mode. Here is the service manual, see if you can troubleshoot it and narrow your focus. http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16023020.pdf
