Roommates overfilled the washer and now it wont engage on the spin cycle. when i remove the bqack panel i can see and hear the motor running and something that sounds like a gear is not catching something like "tick tick tick tick" Im not sure if this is the entire transmission or the coupler or what exactly. model number is KAWE678BAL1

Could be the motor coupler. You should not have taken the back off.
