Hi all,

Hope you can help, before I have to spend $$$

My fridge/freezer is a Smeg, quite expensive, now ~9 years old.

Fridge section not cooling at all, freezer fine. Making a noise, but much quieter than before.

This model has 2 compressors, one each for fridge & freezer.

I've defrosted thoroughly, no change. Coils under fridge have never been cleaned!

Any suggestions? Phone call to service centre quoted $1100 to replace compressor, if that's the problem... :(((

It is very important to keep it clean for good performance.

Unfortunately there is no on line access to any technical information for non American models. We are not able to get any diagrams and/or parts information.

Gene.
