Ice maker working but motor in freezer door hums but not longer crushes ice or distributes whole ice through door. Someone suggested it needed the auger motor replaced?

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered on time. Although, it's probably too late to help you, I'm posting the answer anyway, so that it may help other people with a similar problem.

One simple test to see if the auger motor is the culprit.

Remove the ice bin. Remove the wires from the auger motor. Tape in the door switch. Measure the voltage between the wires disconnected from the auger motor while the ice dispenser calls for cubed and/or crushed ice.

If the voltage reading is about 120 VAC, replace the auger motor.

If the voltage reading is incorrect, then the dispenser switch has to be tested.

I'm not able to supply any part numbers because the model number you posted does not come up.

Gene.
