I like this washer and don't want to spend a lot to get a new one.

The washer agitates good. I was able to clean clutch and does not show any sign of wear either.

This time I used the magnet instead of closing the top door to check if if motor spins and not the belt.

When wet cloths were inside I see that motor was spininng and not the clutch. ( I put the chalk mark on clutch and belt). I could see motor shaft spinning under the clip.

Emptied the drum, keeping th lid open I turned it to Spin only setting and truned it on. The drum spinned and attained full speed. Then started adding cloths inside the drum when it was spining. It spinned and worked and took water out of wet clothes to go in the dryer.

I still don't know what is the issue because drum moves good, clutch has no wear and it spinned good with no load. Transmission should be good also since it agitates and spins.

I got the new belt but I am skeptical that it will fix the issue.

Model S4200B1WW
Brand GE
GE SELECT

Please help me identify the issue.

Thanks

If it will not start spinning, but will spin after you start it with no clothes or with an assist then the clutch seems like the likely problem.
