I have a GE refrigerator that has recently had ice/frost forming on the exit chute for the icemaker. The buildup is at the base of the ice storage bin in the freezer where the cubes are cycled out of the bin to the chute in the door. This buildup also makes the freezer door bind on the ice when you open it.

The water dispenser works fine and I believe the icemaker still works.

Is this something I need a pro to fix or could a "semi- handy" handy man that knows nothing about it fix it with the right parts if needed.

Thanks for the prompt reply. There is a "flap" that appears not to be closing properly after you dispense cubes in the freezer door compartment. Are there instructions for getting into this door/icemaker assembly to find out what part/parts are needed.

I don't know any specific instructions for removing any thing but starting at the bottom
remove the dispenser cover by gently prying going round and round a little at a time to prevent from breaking it. When it's off the screws will be exposed to access the other components. Using the diagrams you should be able to do it.
