I have replaced the door gasket on my Frigidaire Model# MDR251RHRO with a new gasket, Part# 154845301, and both times only have lasted 2-3 wks. before they swell up and start leaking on both sides near the bottom. The original one had lasted for 9 yrs. What would be causing this?, I have had people tell that maybe my hot water heater temp is set too high and thats why the gasket is swelling up and then starting to leak. Any ideas? Thanks

What kind of detergent did you use? Did you always use the same detergent?

We always used Cascade, until the beginning of 2011, when the state required all detergents to be phosphorus free. We still use Cascade but it is now the phosphorus-free type. This is the powder type of detergent. I have reset my water heater temp back to 120, it was up to 130, not sure if that will help solve the problem or not either. I know that frigidaire has replaced the original gasket with a differant one and part number. I hope I can get it figured out, before I decide to invest in replacing another gasket. Thanks

Such damage (swelling) to the door gasket is very strange and unusual. You may want to get in touch with Frigidaire management. Do not call customer service.
