I replaced the upper and lower felt gasket and sliders and all worked fine since. Now the timer knob spins but won’t stop at the end of the cycle; instead it moves to the next cycle and the only way to stop it is to open the door (moving the knob to the off position will not stop the dryer from running). Please help

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 8/16/2007(UTC) Posts: 3,273		Check to see if the start button has fused contacts. This is probably not the case, but it's an easy check. Make sure none of the components is shorted to ground. The problem sounds like a bad timer.
