I have a Whirlpool dishwasher, model # gu1200xtkq0. It fills with water, but when the cycle starts the washer arms won't spin. I've added more water so the float is all the way up but still the arms don't move. If I cancel the cycle it drains properly. Any ideas as to what could be wrong. I've checked the screens an even gotten a finger down onto the impellers and everything will move. Is there a separate impeller for the wash cycle on the pump unit? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for any help in the matter.

I finally discovered the recirculating pump on mine was out and based upon the cost and finding a deal just replaced my dishwasher.
