The broiler igniter works, but the oven igniter does not. The replacement part (item 319867) is not available. In a google search, I did find reference to a Whirlpool AP3104565 igniter that might fit. Or should I just bit the bullet and replace this 22 year old oven?

You definitely can use a Whirlpool AP3104565 igniter, but I would recommend to use a Whirlpool AP3119500 igniter because it has much longer wires (easier to install) and much better wires temperature insulation. Electrically they both are identical.
