I have an old top loader. It was working fine till now. I can open to lid before and watch the entire cycle. Fill ,drain.spin,. NOW the washer stops at the wash cycle ,NO spin,NO drain. Is it the drain pump? I cant see how the lid switch would cause this since before i could run the machine with the lid OPEN and it would work fine. Now tub full of dirty water HELP.

Since your lid switch was obviously not working, go ahead and replace it and see if that fixes your problem. If you haven't gotten the water out try bypassing the switch and see if that works. If not, you can take the drain hose out of the pipe and put it in a low bucket and the water should siphon out.
