Hi!
I am hoping someone can help. Our Kenmore side by side works well for a while, then gets warm on both the fridge and freezer sides. We notice the ice and top shelf of the freezer (ice cream) going first.
Here's what we know:
-Ice is built up on the evaporator coils, so we are 99% sure it is a defrost problem.
-Sears has been out to service it twice for this same problem. First guy didn't replace anything. Second guy replaced a part. I THINK it was the defrost timer. I plan to call and find out tomorrow.
-It is now (of course) out of warrantyby a few months.
Our solution (temporary) is to manually defrost the coils with warm water. We need help please!
Thanks!

Open refrigerator door and turn the light switch on and off 5 times within 6 seconds. Fridge should go into defrost. The evaporator defrost heater should heat up. If not, you have a bad adaptive defrost pc board in the fridge section. If ok, hit light switch off and on 5 times within 6 seconds to place it back to cool mode.
