I have an older electronic push button whirlpool washer LA980P (LA9800XPN1) when it goes into the spin cycle either final or after the wash cycle will not spin the drum. If I reach in and manually spin the drum it works fine after that.

I replaced the water pump and belt earlier this year and it works great other than that. Is it possible that the motor is starting to show its age because the transmission shifts into the spin cycle it just doesn't spin on its own. Once in awhile it works but not often.

Any help would be appreciated
