My Ultimate Care II machine won't agitate, but will spin and drain. What could be the problem?

The first place to check on these models for agitator problems is the cam, also called agitator dogs. Here is the repair kit.

Part number: AP3094543

I watched the video, ordered the part, and got the bolt out, but the upper agitator does not come out: only the upper and lower come out stuck together, and the cam does not come out. Now what?

Frequently detergent and gunk will result in the two pieces stuck together, particularly if you use a lot of fabric softener.

So the solution is to get a large bucket, fill it with very hot water and let the agitator assembly soak for a while. You may have to change out the hot water several times but eventually the two pieces should come apart. Be careful and do not hurt yourself or damage the agitator.

I will try soaking it, but I think there may be more to it. There appears to be some plastic tabs that go through the slots in the cam that are smashed. Here's a pic:

Sorry to hear that. If you cannot get it apart you will have to replace it. You may be able to force it apart and salvage one piece.
