HI,
My Kitchenaid dishwasher (kudp02crbs1) quit working today. At first almost all of the LEDs were constantly flashing in unison and very quickly. Now, the left most five and the start and cancel are very very dimly lit and only a couple buttons are working: The Quick Clean and and 4 Hour Delay are the only ones that light up the LEDs above them when depressed. The Cancel button when pressed repeatedly will cycle through turning on the drain pump, then cancelling the draining, then going dark. It seems that this is correct. Nothing else will happen.
Looking at the trouble shooting diagram from underneath, it says to unplug the ribbon cable at P1, which I found, reassemble everything else then disconnect and reconnect the thermistor twice in less than 6 seconds. I can't readily find the thermistor. If I follow the wire bundle from the circuit board connected at P15 (only thing labeled thermistor), it leads deep under the dishwasher. To attempt this manuever, I will have to disconnect the drain, supply and power, pull the unit out of its hole, then try to improvise connecting these things up to be able to get to the thermistor.
Anyone have a better idea whether its the control or the touchpad with a bit of certainty so I don't have to do all this?
I tell you one thing. I am really hating appliances right now too. All are high end, less than five years old and I have had: broken icemaker refrigerator makes too much noise, kinda rattling dishwasher impeller thingy quit working, wouldn't pump water washing machine drain pump died washing machine is making VERY loud rattle at high spin speeds dryer thermistor burned up dryer heating element burned up stove touchpad quit responding (at least this was under warranty)
Kitchen stuff is all Kitchenaid and Laundry is all Kenmore HE3 so I believe the entire lot is Whirlpool. Do they just not make anything worth a darn anymore? I can't keep up with the repairs!
Any help with the dishwasher would be appreciated.
Eric

Thanks Rich!
I ordered the part from right here at appliancepartspro. It arrived in exactly 2 days with the standard shipping. I installed it and we are back in action.
Thanks a ton!
