I have a Kenmore Triple task oven Model 72173301 The oven seems to shut off almost always at lower temperatures. It has a slo-cook feature that I used for cooking ribs at about 180 or 200 & worked. Now just baking cookies is a challenge. The oven starts within 8 seconds and possibly gets to 350, however when you lower the temp it will shut the flame off, and intermittenly com back on for a min / then off again. Should the stove do this? How can I get the stove to maintain its temperature? I removed the oven bottom, & observed the flame thrower, and I see a little yellow at times but not always and only in spots. The flame does seem to blow up just a bit, but the oven bottom is off for troubleshooting. So what part is my problem? Should the oven flame go Off/on constantly? If so for how long should it remain off? The stove was purchased new in 2004:confused:

Quote:the flame off, and intermittenly come back on for a min / then off again. Should the stove do this? Yes. That is how an oven maintains temperature (see the following link). LINK > Home on the RangeQuote:How can I get the stove to maintain its temperature? Exactly? You can't. Quote:If so for how long should it remain off? That will depend on the the temperature variation built into the control and how long the oven temperature takes to drop to the point of the control cycling it back on again. Of course if the burner is taking longer to ignite once cycled on again by the control, it may result in a wider temperature variation than it was designed to.
