When I push the start button, the dryer blinks on and off for about 10-15 seconds until it will finally run on its own. While it is trying to start, it displays PF and the house lights blink. The drywer has 118 volts at the block for both leads. Is this a control panel or motor problem? Thanks

The symptoms you have presented appear to show that the machine is initially drawing too much current, which suggests a problem in the motor or the motor switches. Since the machine ultimately runs I think the more likely source of the problem is the switches. The PF code is simply stating that there is not enough power to start the dryer, it is being diverted (grounded?) elsewhere. Here is the service manual which will tell you how to check out the motor and the switches. http://www.servicematters.com/m...ibrary/docs/16023110.pdfI would also replace your circuit breakers on this line. Too much draw should trip them, and since that is not happening they may be defective. This is an inexpensive safety fix, and even if the existing breakers are not defective it is not wasted money to be safe. Finally, I would not operate the machine until this is fixed, I do not think there is huge risk, but it is better to be safe when dealing with this level of current. Good luck, let us know what you find out.
