Does the dryer motor switch on this dryer also control the heater element? The switch number is 3388235 - I have replaced the element and traced the power outage to this switch.

Cannot find any info on this unit so the below is just what is the most common.
It is actually 2 switches.
When the motor gets close to it's operating speed a centrifugal mechanism closes the switches. One switch removes the motors start winding from the circuit and often provides an alternate circuit path (parallel) for the push to start switch so the unit continues to run when the push to start is released.
The other switch, switches in the heater coil. This ensures that the heater does not come on without actually having air blown across it. |
