Daughter complains the spin cycle is not working. Also indicated it smelled like rubber burning (belts?). Clothes in washer still very wet. Checked the belts (bottom of washer) and they were not broken but came off pulleys easily. Washer tries to spin clothes but never seems to get spinning very fast. Doubt there is a drain restriction because tub is empty of water, just clothes very wet.

Tip the washer back, remove the belts and turn the tranny pulley in the spin direction. If hard to turn, you probably have something caught in the top of the spin basket, just remove top of washer and check.

We found a small sock wedged between the drum and outer shell. We also replaced the two belts for about $30, but I am sure this was unnecessary. I think we could have found the sock without taking out the two bolts and lifting the top, but thanks much. You're a genius and saved us from a costly service call.
