Hello,
I've read Gene's tutorial about troubleshooting a refrigerator that cools the freezer, but not the fridge compartment, because the coils are iced over. (thanks for that, very informative!) The timer seems to be working. I haven't tested the heater conductance yet, but I have a replacement thermostat to try because it's cheap. I can't test it without cutting it off, because its wires go right into the wire harness, with no connectors.
1. The fridge wires and old thermostat wires are orange and yellow. The replacement ones are orange and pink. Should I match orange/orange, yellow/pink?
2. The old thermostat had a clip built into it that snapped onto the cooling coil. The new one came with metal clamps, but they're designed to screw into place and there aren't any matching holes. Should I attach the new one in the same position with wire ties or something like that? Ugly.
Thanks!

The wire colors make NO difference, (they can go either way) I would mount the new therm. as close as you can to the way it was. :D

I resorted to... duct tape. It's running again. We'll see whether that solved it.Thanks!
