I received your recommended replacement door gasket kit (AP3672571) part # 8193942 for my dishwasher. Following the kit installation instructions I first tested the seal by inserting it and attempted to close the door. Because the seal is an apparently different design than the original, the door will not remain closed. The original seal was L shaped and fit more snugly in the opening. The new seal requires more pressure on the seal to close the door and the latch will not sustain this pressure. Are you certain this is a workable substitution. The reason I purchased this replacement was my original seal though workable frequently sticks to the door when it is opened at the completion of a washing cycle. As a result the two bottom ends of the original seal have become frayed, yet still function. The kit instructions mention a white line in the seal for orientation purposes. The original has this line, but the replacement does not. Unless you can confirm that this seal really is appropriate for this device and provide additional info regarding its installation I must return the entire kit and simply purchase some sealant for the original seal. Any advice in this regard would be appreciated.
By the way, the other replacement parts the Door Balance Kit and the Air Inlet were successfully installed and the dishwasher is again functioning, but I would like to resolve this door seal problem.we've had several leaks in the past when the old seal was partially unseated.

I have the exact same problem. I even bought a new latch and it does not hold. I have to put a chair and some boxes on top of the chair to keep the door closed. What is the fix?

Same problem here. It appears the gasket is thicker than the original. Any solutions to this?

Make sure door hinges aren't bent.
