I seem to be having the typical Thermador problem with the XLO burners not igniting. I've got spark but no gas on one while the other works perfectly. I assume I need the new design potentiometer kit but I don't see my model listed. Serial number is 98110279M. Thanks, Mike

Back to the top. SWMBO is becoming impatient, I'd appreciate someone looking at this. Thanks, Mike

Get kit to replace the 2 potentiometers to the XLO burners & a new control module. Comes together. Check model and SERIAL numbers for the exact kit. Turn off gas, unplug. Disconnect gas line. Lift unit out. take off knobs. Use a 20mm socket wrench to CAREFULLY remove brass venturi bolts at each burner. They will strip easily. Sometime they are fused to the aluminum gas orifice assembly underneath. If so, CAREFULLY use a 3/4 in drill bit and drill out bolt without damaging burner plate. You will need to order new 9mm venturi bolt and possibly new gas orifice assembly (either 12500btu or 9100 btu). There is also 2 screws on the front panel to a support bracket that is glued to the top. Gently lift top off. Be careful of the ignition spark modules. Don't let them get bent. The ignition wires are not very long. Know where they go before you disconnect. I took a picture with phone. Replace the big blue module in the middle and two potentiometers. Put the top back on and do not bend ignition spark modules. May need to replace foam tape. Place unit back in. reconnect gas and plug in. hope this helps someone. wish I had this advice before tackling this job. yes, I had to drill out a fused bolt and yes I bent and broke a spark module. :)
