My chest freezer temp alarm contiunues to go off. I have pushed the temp button and it will stop beeping for a short time and then continues to go off. I have unplugged the unit and the temp light goes off and unit does not beep for maybe 6-8 hours and then the beeping starts up.
My freezer is 3/4 full but not over full (everything is in its place-- baskets are in correctly), gaskets are in like new condition, there is no ice build up around door, or gaskets, the freezer is on a level garage cement floor at least 4-6 inches from any wall, there is nothing blocking the access panel, the freezer is maintaining temp as i have put a themometer inside, the thermostat control is set to the factory setting of 4, and I am going crazy with this "beeping" noise.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be wrong or how to fix it.

The only themometer i have is a pocket thermometer and it reads well below 0 as this is the lowest number on the thermometer . I am going to pick up a freezer thermometer Tuesday after work. How long should i leave it in their before I take a reading?
